GIWEH at High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)
GIWEH joined the working groups of the 2020 High-Level Political Forum, the UN's central platform for reviewing the Sustainable Development Goals.
GIWEH participated as a member of the working groups for the 2020 High-Level Segment of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), including the ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The HLPF is the United Nations' central platform for following up and reviewing progress on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
GIWEH's contribution focused on SDG 6 on clean water and sanitation and its connections to health, climate and partnerships, reflecting the Institute's view that the goals are best advanced together. As an ECOSOC-accredited organisation, GIWEH brought evidence from its field programmes to the review.
The engagement is part of GIWEH's continuous presence in the multilateral system in Geneva and New York, where it works to keep water and environment high on the development agenda.
