We are pleased to inform you that GIWEH has been granted special consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) !
On the 19 April 2017 during the Coordination and Management meeting at the UN office in New York, the ECOSOC adopted the recommendation of the Committee on NGOs to grant GIWEH the special consultative status.
This special consultative status enables GIWEH to actively engage with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with the UN Secretariat, programmes, funds and agencies in a number of ways.
GIWEH is now looking forward to building partnerships with other UN agencies!
