What we delivered
Funded by the Global Environment Facility, this programme built joint capacity for the Kura river basin shared between Georgia and Azerbaijan. GIWEH provided technical assistance on water-quality assessment, established shared monitoring protocols, and facilitated the cross-border data exchange and stakeholder engagement that transboundary management depends on.
The result was a working model of cooperation on a watercourse that both countries depend on, and a template GIWEH now offers other shared basins through its Mediation Facility.
