Ms. Shahneela Tariq represented GIWEH at the UN Human Rights Council, “Panel Discussion on Climate Change and Right to Health,” on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016. GIWEH collaborated with the Arab Commission for Human Rights (ACHR) and the Centre Indépendant de Recherche et d’Initiatives pour le Dialogue (CIRID) to speak to the panel about waterborne diseases. The purpose of this statement was to bring attention to waterborne diseases affecting developing countries and to promote the reduction of disease rates throughout the world.
Participation in this panel discussion was informed by GIWEH’s research, linking disease to water and health.
