Dr Nidal Salim in Tlemcen: towards a shared regional strategy for water resources
On the sidelines of IC-TWEP 2026 in Tlemcen, which brought together academics, researchers and experts from 35 countries, GIWEH Director-General Dr Nidal Salim told Cap dz that the region needs a shared strategy to manage its water resources in line with United Nations standards.

On the sidelines of the International Conference on Transboundary Watercourse Protection and Environmental Pollution Prevention (IC-TWEP 2026), which brought together academics, researchers and experts from 35 countries at the University of Tlemcen, GIWEH Director-General Dr Nidal Salim gave a video interview to the Algerian news outlet Cap dz.
He called for a shared regional strategy for the management of water resources, built on United Nations standards, as the foundation for protecting transboundary watercourses and preventing their pollution.
