: Preserving the Flow of Life in Lyon, France from 29-31 October, 2014. This conference was hosted by the Greater Lyon, the Rhone Mediterranean and Corsica Water Agency, and Électricité de France (EDF) in partnership with the World Water Council, the French Water Partnership, the societe hydrotechnique de france (SHF) and the Groupe de Recherche Rhone-Alps sur les Infrastructures et l’Eau (GRAIE).
GIWEH joined the discussion on various presentations regarding the connection between water and energy. Since water and energy are essential to one another, strategic understanding of their interactions are required. Presenters and participants reiterated the necessity to include health and food when speaking of water and energy. Therefore they should be at the root of action and must be integrated into planning as well.
This conference allowed for further opportunities to exchange ideas, discuss, reflect and contribute towards ‘preserving the flow of life’.
