GIWEH’s Secretary, Adrien Oleszkiewicz, attended the 33rd Regular Session of the Human Rights Council in the Clustered ID with Special Reporter Leo Heller on Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation. Mr. Oleszkiewicz and our partners Arab Commission for Human Rights and Centre Indépendant de Recherche et d'Initiatives pour le Dialogue, gave a statement to the Human Rights Council to contribute to the debate over how to address gender inequality in relation to water and sanitation. The statement suggested promoting women’s employment and job creation for women within decision-making bodies in the water sector, and asked what measures should be taken in order to prioritize this position at national levels.
