The problem

Makhinjauri and Green Cape were incorporated into Batumi without water or sewerage infrastructure, and their waste discharges untreated into the Black Sea. The project delivers twenty-four hour supply and a collection and treatment system across three sectors.

The works comprise roughly 13.5 km of water pipeline, 17.9 km of sewer, 170 household connections, three pumping stations and a reservoir. The proposal was submitted to the Asia Water Council at its 10th Board of Council meeting in Wuhan.
