A decade of convening
From 2011 to 2018, GIWEH convened six editions of the International Conference on Water Resources and Environment, hosted across the MENA region and Europe. Each edition brought researchers, utility managers and policymakers together around a shared challenge, from water-quality monitoring to climate adaptation, and translated the science into recommendations decision-makers could act on.
The series built a durable community of practice that still informs GIWEH's research and the institute's flagship conference, WECC.
